  1. NORMAL CARTILAGE:
    1. Has an intermediate grey signal ( Blue Arrows)  and is uniform across the glenoid surface.
  2. WHERE TO LOOK FOR CARTILAGE LOSS IN TRAUMA:
    1. Cartilage has a very firm attachment to the labrum ( Pink Arrows)
    2. With dislocation the labrum tears and the cartilage immediately next to it is where the damage first begins.
    3. There should be no fluid signal between the black labrum and grey cartilage.
  3. WHAT TO LOOK FOR:
    1. Loss of cartilage results in fluid filling the area where cartilage should be.
    2. Look for high fluid signal ( Orange arrow) replacing the intermediate greay of cartilage.
